Islamabad police have decided to heighten security in localities situated alongside streams and nullahs in the federal capital.
Police authorities have directed all zonal SPs and police stations to step up patrolling in residential areas located on both sides of 76 nullahs of Islamabad to curb the activities of criminals.
Sources said these steps have been taken after arrest of a robbers’ gang. Ring leader Shamsullah and Noor Agha confessed that they entered in different sectors for robberies through nullahs of Golra and Sarai Kharbooza.
Police officials issued directives in categorical terms to all zonal SPs to monitor patrolling on their own and different patrolling teams will be kept deployed on the bridges of these nullahs from 1900hrs to 800hrs daily.
