Karachi, Sindh on high alert after terror threat

Intelligence institutions issued alert for Sindh and Karachi city following the military operation in tribal areas. The alert warns that the terrorist outfits can target official and military installations in Karachi and Sindh.

The localities on high alert include official and military installations, old and new vegetable markets among some 30 other spots. The intelligence institution explained that banned outfits can target airport, seaport, vegetable market and other official locations.

Media reports say that 30 areas of Karachi city are at risk – Sohrab Goth, Machar Colony, Banaras, Guddap, Yousaf Goth, Quaidabad, Bin Qasim, Pehlwan Goth, Kanwari Colony and Nazimabad.

It further said that banned organisations had organised network in certain areas. Following the intelligence report, law enforcement institutions have formulated a strategy to counter the terrorist network and possible attacks.
