The Punjab government entered into an agreement with a Chinese firm on Thursday to initiate Pakistan’s first metro train project, a private news channel reported.
A memorandum of understanding was signed to this effect in Shanghai. Dubbed as Lahore Orange Line Metro Train, Lahore metro train service will ply on a proposed 27-km long track.
The project is estimated to cost around $1.60 billion and it is expected to be completed in 27 months.
