PCB security bars Umar from entering Qaddafi stadium

Pakistani right-handed batsman and a part-time spinner Umar Akmal was stopped from entering the premises of Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday.

According to media reports, the security officials in Qaddafi stadium stopped Umar Akmal’s car at the gates and barred him from entering the premises of the board. It was the second time when the cricketer was stopped from entering the stadium.

However, after intervention of board officials he was allowed to enter the gates and park his car. The reasons of barring him from entrance have not be revealed.

Umar Akmal has always been surrounded by controversies and also known as the ‘Meera’ of Pakistani cricket.

In the previous encounter with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) security guards in Qaddafi Stadium, he exchanged harsh words with a security official at the entrance of Gaddafi Stadium but had to park his car and then crossed the gate like general visitors.

Earlier this year, he was arrested on charges of brawling with a traffic warden. Later his marriage attracted a lot of media coverage.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
