Owners of CNG stations have increased the price of CNG by Rs10 to 15 per kg in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, local media quoting sources said on Monday.

The sources also revealed that per CNG cylinder prices have also been increased by Rs 100. According to sources port, the CNG owners have taken this decision because of long hours of load shedding, which make them utilise generators more and increase their expenditure.

The CNG stations owners said that increase in price was due to the use of generators. They have been requesting Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to review CNG prices for the last two months. The owners said they were forced to increase prices due to lack of attention from OGRA and the petroleum ministry. However, 35 percent gas stations are still charging as per OGRA’s notification.
