After getting approval from the Sindh government, the interior ministry issued a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) declaring the central jails in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Sukkur high security prisons, media reported on Monday.

Terrorists, extortionists and target killers arrested under the Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) will be kept in these jails and their trials will also be conducted inside these prisons.

Testimonies will be recorded via video links and measures will be taken for the security of lawyers as well as witnesses. According to the PPO, Sindh has been divided into eight zones: South Zone Karachi, East Zone Karachi, West Zone Karachi, CID CUT Karachi, Hyderabad Range, Mirpurkhas Range, Sukkur Range and Larkana Range.

Each zone will have a separate joint investigation team whose supervisors have already been appointed.
