LOS dual carriageway to open on 30th

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will open the dual carriage road from LOS Ferozepur Road to Multan Road along Samanabad Nullah for the general public after completing it at an estimated cost of Rs 3.2 billion on May 30.

LDA and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) have already completed installation of a sewer pipeline in place of an open drain of the existing Nullah. Two lanes of the new road would be constructed on the existing open Nullah after covering it though most modern construction technology.

LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed Khan said that the road would be inaugurated on May 30 following the timeline given by the Punjab government

Hundreds of houses, shops and motor workshops had been demolished and acquired by the government for this mega development project. The project will help ease the traffic flow from the Ferozpur Road towards the Motorway M-2 and Lahore Ring Road via Multan Road-Gulshan-e-Ravi.

Under the project, the existing more than four kilometres long road alongside the Samanabad Nullah to Gulshan-e-Ravi would be rehabilitated and widened up to 60 feet consisting three lanes on each side.
