Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued contempt of court notice to National Housing Authority (NHA) chairman and sought reply from him within 10 days.

IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kansi took up the case for hearing involving Mian Muhammad Asghar and Shahid Ashraf Tarar.

Petitioner’s counsel Muhammad Shabbir Bhutta appeared in the court and told that orders for promotion of Mian Muhammad Asghar as general manager were issued on January 27, 2011 but NHA and Ministry of Communication had not implemented them.

Bhutta further told the court that Federal Tribunal Services had given a decision in favour of the petitioner that he be promoted to the office of general manager. However, the institution refused to accept the court’s orders and did not implement them. He took the plea that not implementing the court’s orders fall in the ambit of contempt of court.

The court while issuing contempt of court notice to NHA Chairman Muhammad Ashraf Tarar adjourned the hearing of the case.
