7 walk free in ephedrine case

The Rawalpindi Anti-Narcotics Court (ANC) has acquitted seven accused persons of private pharmaceutical companies in ephedrine quota case due to lack of evidence.

Ephedrine quota case was heard on Thursday by Judge Akhtar Bahadur.

The accused were charged with smuggling 500 kilogram ephedrine to Afghanistan and Iran. They were arrested by Anti Narcotics Force and were kept in jail since the last one year.

Those who have been exonerated are Syed Seraj, Abouzar, Faizi, Hamid Raza and Nadeem.
