The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that it was raising the central contracts fee of players by as much as 25% over previous contracts, which will see a decent rise in their pay structure.

The board has been contemplating the increment and now has decided to raise it by 25%.

In addition, the PCB will also pay 50% of the outstanding dues of players from January 2014, while the remaining 50% will be paid after the completion training camp currently underway in Lahore.

“PCB will increase central contracts pay by 25% while 50% outstanding dues of the players will be paid to them by tomorrow. The rest of the amount will be paid after the training camp,” a senior PCB official told reporters.

On Saturday, the PCB delayed the issuance of central contracts to the players, as the board waited for the completion of a month-long training camp being held in Lahore before announcing the list of players to be awarded the contracts.

“The central contracts will be announced towards the end of this fitness training camp,” one of the selectors said.
