ISLAMABAD-
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday submitted its report in court regarding the high treason case against former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, a private news channel reported.
The report was presented before a three-member bench, headed by Jutice Faisal Arab, hearing the treason case against the former military dictator.
It comprised of 237 pages and contained statements of 24 witnesses on 97 pages.
The report states that Musharraf was solely responsible for the emergency imposed on November 3, 2007.
According to it, former Governor Punjab retired Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool, Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Sharifuddin Pirzada and former attorney general Malik Mohammad Qayyum denied involvement in the imposition of emergency by Musharraf.
According to the ex-AG Qayyum, he did not have any prior information about the then president’s decision of declaring an emergency.
The report added that no cabinet meeting was held prior to the emergency declaration.
Prosecutor Akram Sheikh requested the court to summon all those whose statements were recorded.
The court said that the complainant in this case was interior secretary Shahid Khan and ordered him to appear in person during next hearing.
The case hearing was adjourned till May 22.
So one fine mornig Mushrraf wakes up and decides to declare a state of emergency. No body is consulted but everybody obeys his orders. Do you really expect any sane person to believe this.?
Well said Dr. The report fails to mention a small matter of refusal to allow Musharraf's plane to land in Pakistan with fuel virtually running out and carrying a party of school children, had that plane crashed how would thay have covered that up? Obviously with more lies about technical problems with the plane! No politician in Pakistan is to be trusted.
