Minister asks FIA to investigate Estate Office fire incident

Minister of State for Housing and Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim has asked Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the matter of fire incident in Estate Office.

The minister on Tuesday formally directed FIA to initiate its enquiry regarding the fire matter in Estate Office. He had directed to constitute a three-member committee to probe into the matter.

According to the report of the committee, the fire incident appeared to be intentional and deliberate by some employees of the Estate Office to hide the illegal allotments and its record.

The Estate Office surprisingly caught fire on March 2, 2014 when the building was closed for two holidays.

In this regard an FIR was lodged by the Estate Office in Kohsar Police Station to investigate the matter. Due to this fire incident the major portion of record related to government accommodation, office, furniture and fixture, electricity wiring, ceiling and partitioning walls were burnt.
