  1. Our officials from the highest level have been meeting regularly to enhance cooperation and communication between our nations. The U.S. Central Command General Lloyd J. Austin also visited Islamabad recently to discuss matters of mutual interest with special emphasis on regional security. We greatly value Pakistan’s importance in the region, and meetings likes these allow our officials to build on our improving relationship, and at the same time, address our shared concerns in the region. The U.S. and Pakistan are two independent partner nations, and we are working together to negate the common threat of terrorism. At the end of the day, it is simply imperative for our nations to maintain a healthy partnership for the sake of achieving our shared objectives.
