Security beefed up at Multan Airport after terror threats

Security has been put on high alert at MultanAirport after Civil Aviation Authority received terror threats, a private news channel reported on Monday.

Unknown persons had threatened to hijack the airplanes and blow up airport.

Airport authorities, while placing the security on high alert, have increased the contingents of the Airport Security Force (ASF) and have placed snipers on the buildings.

Sources further said that the luggage of the passengers is also being strictly monitored.

According to ASF sources, terror threats were also received in airports of Peshawar, Quetta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Sukkur.
