3,000 police officials to perform duty during PTI, PAT rally

As many as 3,000 police officials will perform duty for the security of joint procession and rally of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while additional reserve police will remain in City District government office to check any emergency.

Lahore CCPO Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad Gujjar said this while visiting Nasir Bagh and the Mall Road regarding security arrangements of the joint procession.

He said that additional force will also remain at the GPO Chowk,

Nilla Gumbad, Regal Chowk and Faisal Chowk and added that 150 trained commandoes of quick response force in plain clothes will remain in “pandaal” to keep eye on anti social elements during the procession and rally.

The CCPO said that over 70 close circuit cameras will be installed at 50 different points to monitor security arrangements and participants of rally from the Secretariat to Faisal Chowk Mall Road. No one will be allowed to enter in the procession without passing from walk-through-gates and metal detectors, he said.

No one will be allowed to take law in hand and strict action would be taken against those persons who will try to damage official buildings, he added.
