Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehrrek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri for a meeting ‘over a cup of tea’ to hear their concerns over alleged poll rigging in Punjab.
The PM expressed his views while addressing groundbreaking ceremony of Pakistan’s first 100 megawatt solar power project in Bahawalpur on Friday.
“I invite Qadri and Khan for tea in the PM House to hear what they are protesting for and where the rigging was carried out” said Sharif.
His invitation came two days before a PTI rally is scheduled to be held at Islamabad’s D Chowk against what Khan called ‘theft of public mandate’. Khan has vowed to show the power of his ‘tsunami supporters’ in the federal capital on Sunday.
Without transparent elections, democracy is not attained. If people's vote don't count then we may as well have dictatorship.
