The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Islamabad High Court to decide the matter of stay order over termination of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) employees within ten days.

A three-judge bench led by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the petition filed by the inter-provincial coordination ministry regarding the stay order passed by the IHC on the termination of PCB employees.

The bench also directed the IHC that if court remained failed to solve the matter within ten days the stay order on their termination would stand canceled.

During the course of proceedings, Asma Jahangir, counsel for IPC Ministry, requested the bench to cancel the stay order as it was passed against the rules.

The bench directed the IHC to expedite the hearing and decide it within ten days otherwise the stay order on the termination of employees would stand cancel.

Arbab Altaf, a PCB employee, along with other colleagues requested the court that PCB had been illegally dismissing its employees and had also published advertisements for fresh inductions.

He further requested to pass a restraining order against new inductions in this connection, therefore the court issued stay order on the termination of the employees until the decision of the case.
