Sufficient water reservoirs to meet capital’s water requirement are available at Simly Dam and Khanpur Dam, said Capital Development Authority (CDA) Water Management Director Abdul Sattar Achakzai.
Achakzai said that generators would be installed on the various tube-well to provide smooth water supply to the residents of the city. He said Water Management Wing was making extra efforts to ensure uninterrupted water supply for citizens despite electricity load shedding.
Earlier, CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal chaired a high level meeting at the CDA Headquarters. CDA Member Engineering Shahid Sohail and other senior officials of the authority attended the meeting.
The meeting was convened to explore and finalised different options to ensure sustained and uninterrupted water supply for the citizens during summer season. The chairman on the occasion directed the concerned authorities to work-out a water supply schedule in consultation with IESCO to minimize effects of electricity load shedding on water supply.
