LAHORE-
The workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday violated the decorum of Lahore High Court by storming in to a court room along with the PTI Chief Imran Khan, a private news channel reported.
Khan had arrived at the court to submit evidence of poll rigging in May 11, 2013 elections in Lahore’s constituency NA-122 to the Chief Justice of LHC.
The PTI workers chanted slogans and tried to forcibly enter in to the chamber of LHC CJ Omar Atta Bandial.
Policemen were called in to control the PTI mob while CJ Bandial, displeased with the disturbance to the court decorum, left the court room.
He was also reported to have remarked that “such environment is violation of decorum of the court which will be not tolerated.
The CJ has also taken notice of the event and summoned an explanation from party chairman Imran Khan.
The LHC was holding case hearing of inspection of electoral record from Lahore’s constituency NA-122. Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz’s (PMLN) leader and speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was declared elected from the said constituency.
On a petition filed by PTI, the Election Commission ordered recounting of the votes in NA-122.
Sadiq had challenged the decision of Election Commission in the LHC.
