Islamabad High Court Wednesday maintained its objection and returned the plea seeking to register treason case and to lodge First Investigation Report (FIR) against Geo News and Jang Group.
A single bench of the court comprising Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan heard the case.
The counsel of appellant Mirza Abdul Rehman, Ali Nawaz Khar stated that an FIR should be registered against Geo/Jang Group in Kohsar Police Station, Islamabad and also asked to direct Interior Ministry to initiate case against Geo/Jang on treason charges.
Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan in his remarks directed the petitioner to move his plea in the Lower Court first and if petition is being rejected there then move in the High Court.
The court maintained the rejection of Registrar Office and returned the petition.
