The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Wednesday defused a magnetic bomb in Keamari Oil terminal of Karachi, a private news channel reported.
According to the report,locals received a tip-off about presence of a bomb in the area. They called in the BDS team immediately.
Upon arrival, the team cordoned off the area and discovered a bomb following an inspection.
The bomb was left to explode in a secluded area.
Police sources added that the bomb was planted with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and weighed around one kilogram.
On Tuesday, a blast in an oil tanker left three people injured in Mauripur area of the metropolitan while there were two other explosions in Keamari oil terminal. No casualties were reported in the incident.
