ISLAMABAD
The National Assembly on Tuesday approved a resolution to lift a ban from YouTube website, a private news channel reported.
According to the report, MNA Shazia Marri had tabled the resolution in the lower house. It was approved unanimously.
The resolution demanded the government to take immediate steps to life a ban from the video portal website.
MNA Arif Alvi demanded that a special committee be formed to look in to the matter.
In September 2012, YouTube was blocked in the country after the website refused to remove blasphemous content on the request of the Pakistani government.
