Court seeks reply over SHO’s refusal to file FIR against drone attacks

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday sought reply in 15 days from the Secretariat Police Station SHO for refusing to register an FIR against drone attacks in Pakistan.

A single-member bench of court comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the case.

The counsel of complainant, Advocate Mirza Shahzad Akbar appeared before the court and pointed that his appellant’s brother and son were killed in a drone strike in 2010.

The planning was drone attacks were made in a local hotel in Islamabad, Mirza Shahzad Akbar argued. He added two CIA officials were also present during the planning.

Mirza Shahzad Akbar pleaded to the court to lodge case against CIA officials. The court issued notices to Secretariat Police Station of Islamabad and sought report in 15 days and later adjourned the case till indefinite period.
