The stunning entertainer, Veena Malik, who now also enjoys the International Human Rights Commission Goodwill Ambassadorship, was given a “heroine’s” welcome when she finally reached her Husband’s ancestral village to meet her in-laws.
As soon as she set foot in Shakar Dara village near Kohat, a reception party danced to the traditional Pushtoon tunes to greet their famous ‘Bhabhi’.
On her arrival, the overjoyed actress said, “I have never imagined that I will come to such a remote area of Pakistan where I will have a home of my own.”
Earlier this week, she was appointed IHRC’s Goodwill Ambassador. Commenting on the honour bestowed upon her by the IHRC, Veena said she looked at it as an opportunity to safeguard the human rights in Pakistan as well as across the world.
Veena added that she had seen her life changing in so many ways over those past years but it changed for the best after her marriage.
“The change I am happiest about was my getting hitched with Assad Bashir Khattak”, she said.
Veena and her husband, who is a Dubai-based businessman, arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday.
“I’m so excited being back to Pakistan after three years. As absence makes the heart grow fonder so being away from home for so long has only multiplied my love for it,” said Veena Malik, who tied the nuptial knot last year in Dubai.
Talking to the press at Islamabad airport, she expressed she’d prefer to work in Pakistan despite steady offers from India.
About her husband’s future plans, the actress revealed that he wanted to dedicate all his energies for the social welfare in Pakistan.
To a question, Veena said she was looking forward to a positive cooperation with Lollywood.
“Veena is free to continue with her showbiz work. I will support her for the sake of our film industry, which is down in the dumps for so very many years,” he said to a question.
