Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader Pervaiz Elahi said that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif would be the only minister who was giving statements against his own army, adding that his name should be added to Guinness Book of World Records.
According to reports, he questioned as to why the government was worried about the rallies held to express solidarity with the army. Addressing reporters at his residence in Lahore, Pervaiz Elahi said locals participated in several rallies on the call of the PML. He said all forces should keep in mind that the nation would not tolerate a single word against the army.
Separately, in a message he said that these rallies amounted to fully supporting the army on one hand and on the other a warning for those enemies of the country who were involved in malicious campaign against the army. After efforts to prove the former army chief as a traitor now deplorable malicious campaign has been launched to get serving chief of the ISI declared a murderer, this anti-state attitude was intolerable for the nation, he added.
He said, “The country faced grave dangers on internal and external fronts and under these circumstances our rallies are to give message to the entire world that entire nation was standing with our army and will not allow any conspiracy against it to succeed.”
