The PPIB MD was arrested in Islamabad while the two former CEOs were nabbed in Karachi.
NAB is investigating a case regarding the illegal award of contract to Karkey Karadenize Electric Uretium, a Turkish Company, for installation of Rental Power Projects (RPPs) in Karachi. In this regard, an agreement had been signed between the company and LPGCL.
The officials arrested have allegedly caused huge loss to the national exchequer by extending ‘undue favour’ to Karkey. An estimated $128.136 million, along with markup, is recoverable from Karkey whereas Rs 672.700 million is recoverable from public office holders responsible for the loss.
