*CM says British premier’s words in praise of PML-N governments should be a matter of pride for Pakistanis
British Prime Minister David Cameron, Ministers and senior officers appreciated the leadership qualities and way of working of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and paid rich tributes to the far-reaching steps taken by him for the development of Punjab. Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was accorded warm welcome in UK and undoubtedly this visit will prove to be a milestone in expanding the relations between Pakistan and Britain. Due to this visit, new avenues of cooperation have opened between the two countries. Referring to his visit to Britain, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that appreciation of the Punjab government’s performance, trust in policies of the government and present leadership of Pakistan by British rulers is not only a matter of pride for Punjab but every citizen of Pakistan. He said increasing cooperation of international friends with Pakistan reflects that the ruling leadership in Pakistan is engaged in public service with honesty and due to its solid economic policies, the miseries of the people are decreasing. He said that the cooperation of the DFID UK for Educational Endowment Fund of Punjab is a proof of the success and usefulness of this programme. Like international institutions, British authorities have also lauded the steps of the Punjab government for Skill Development Programme, education, health and uplift of other sectors which is encouraging, he added.
