Pakistan Muslim League-N government has put the country on the way to progress, prosperity, economic and political stability, said Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Chaudhry Barjees Tahir on Saturday while addressing a seminar organised by the PML-N workers organisation at Aiwan-e-Iqbal.

The minister said loadshedding of electricity would be eliminated as the government was working on various projects, including Diameer-Bhasha Dam, Neelam-Jhehlam project, Dasu Dam and other power projects.
“We will produce more electricity than required in five years and surplus electricity could be exported to other countries to earn revenue,” he added.

He said the government had to pay circular debt of Rs 500 billion after coming to power and the federal ministers cut down their expenses to Rs 137 billion to pay the debt.
The federal minister appreciated the performance of the Punjab government and said it had always provided support to other provinces to facilitate people.
He said there were massive human rights violations by the Indian occupation forces in Occupied Kashmir and suppression had been a routine matter with Kashmiris.
Chaudhry Barjees said people of Pakistan condemned Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir, adding that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris and in line with the UN resolutions.

Addressing the seminar, he said people of the country trusted the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, adding that Nawaz Sharif was the only politician who could unite the people.
He said foreign investors showed keen interest in investment in the country due to effective economic policies of the government, adding that the government had also taken measures to provide security to investors.
He said it was an obligation of every political party to play a constructive and productive role for progress and prosperity of the country.
