SA adopts resolution against killings of MQM workers

The Sindh Assembly (SA) has unanimously adopted resolution against extra-judicial killings of the MQM workers.

The Sindh Assembly members from the MQN called upon the government to take notice of extra-judicial killings of MQM workers. Syed Sardar Ahmad said innocent workers were being subjected to extra-judicial killings. If any one was culprit he should be arrested and produced before the court, he demanded.

Provincial minister for Industries and Production Rauf Siddiqui said rule of might was right is in place in Karachi. Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassain, MPA of MQM, said “we are being punished for our struggle for restoration of democracy. Hatred is being fanned and people are being provoked to go for rebellion.”

Syed Sardar Ahmad presented the resolution against the extra-judicial killings of MQM workers in the house which was passed unanimously.

MQM MPA Faisal Sabzwari said: “We don’t want to observe the mourning day. Neither we want our children not to go to schools. We want the economic development of the country. But our workers are being subjected to worst torture which can not be tolerated any way. Targeted operation is being conducted only against the MQM. We appeal all the institutions that justice be administered to us.”

While talking to media men ahead of commencement of SA session, Provincial Information Minister Sharjil Memon said: “I have talked to the Sindh governor and MQM leaders with reference to deceased workers. No law enforcement agency has accepted the responsibility for arresting the MQM workers.”
