LAHORE
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch on Friday said that there was no threat to the democratic system.
In a statement, he said that the government was putting forth engineered issues only to conceal its incompetence and poor performance during its one year rule.
He said that with the approach of summer, the energy crisis had deepened and the tall claims of the rulers had been exposed. Instead of taking solid measures to overcome the energy crisis, the government was busy in providing makeshift arrangements.
Baloch urged the government to stop the economic murder of the workers through privatization of state units. Instead, he said, the government should trust the professionals, engineers and the workers in state controlled units including the Pakistan Steel, OGDC, PIA, WAPDA and utilize their talent for improving the country’s economy.
The JI leader said that the protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on May 11 and protest of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) against polls rigging and the government’s poor performance was in line with the democratic norms.
