Enquiry ordered to ascertain connivance of CDA employees in rapid expansion of kachchi abadis
Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has ordered enquiry into rapid growth of slums in federal capital in connivance with certain unscrupulous employees of CDA.
The chairman has appointed Administration Director General (DG) Sohail Durrani as enquiry officer. He will identify which officers from planning and enforcement departments are responsible for the rapid expansion and increase in the kutchi abadis.
There are 25 kutchi abadis in the capital; 10 of them being recognised while 15 being newly formed.
The residents of Muslim Colony Noorpur Shahan were allotted plots in Ali Pur Farash but the kutchi abadi was not evacuated. In the meanwhile, I-11 slums were evacuated but more illegal constructions have started surfacing up therein.
