Capital’s first ever Teachers Literature Festival opens today with enriching interactive sessions
The federal capital is celebrating its first ever Teachers Literature Festival (TLF) today at Federal College of Education (FCE), Sector H-9. The festival, organised by Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi and Oxford University Press in collaboration with Open Society Foundation and FCE, is featuring many national and international celebrities participating in different interactive sessions, programs and activities.
TLF is being celebrated first time in federal capital along with Children Literature Festival (CLF) and according to organizers TLF would be celebrated on May 1 while CLF would be held from May 2 to 3 at the same venue. These three-day literature celebrations would be featuring many interactive sessions and activities including talks, interviews, discussions, workshops, book fair, puppet show, competitions, food stalls and many others.
At this occasion many national and international writers, poets, intellectuals, performers and journalists including Hassena Moin, Chintan Girish Modi, Kishwer Naheed, Arfa Syeda Zehra, Fahmida Riaz, Farooq Qaiser, Rumana Husain, Ameena Saiyid, Saman Shamsie, Bushra Shahab, Fauzia Minallah, Baela Raza Jamil, Asif Farrukhi, Adeel Hashmi, Khaled Anum, Zobaida Jalal, Nargis Sultana, Nadine Murtaza, Samar Minallah, Taimur Rehman, would be spending their time with children and their teachers.
TLF will be highlighting different interactive sessions including Art of Reading with Expression, Understanding Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Understanding Ghalib, Teachers’ Voices, Nurturing Creativity in Children, Protecting Our Culture, Literature and Language, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah (Tasveeri Kahani), Heer Ranjha, Multi Sensory Stalls, Food Court, Technology in the Classroom, Book Stalls, Bacha Bawarchi.
Second day of the festival, CLF would be inaugurated while EU acting ambassador to Pakistan Pierre Mayaudon and renowned author Haseena Moin would be addressing on this occasion. CLF inauguration would be followed by day long activities including Puppet Show by known actor Farooq Qaiser, Storytelling for Peace, Sher Ke Baatain, The Magical Woods, Prose for Critical Thinking, Bol Keh Lub Azad Hain Teray, A Talk on Quaid-e-Azam, Curriculum & Textbooks- Problems and Resolutions for 21st Century, How to Write Short Stories, Promoting Libraries and Reading Through Innovations in Pakistan, Main Aur Mera Pakistan, Interactive Music Session, A Children’s History of Baluchistan, Article 25-A: Right to Education-From Access to Quality Learning for All, Safety at Home and Safety on the Road, music performance and a workshop regarding the art of book making.
Last day of the festival will highlight Farooq Qaiser’s puppet show along with many other interactive sessions including Just Like the Other Kids, Simurgh and the Birds and Our Sheikh Saadi, Raj Wali Khattak, Brokering Peace, Tolerance and Citizenship, Poetry, Inclusive Education – Just Like Other Kids…Can We Do It?, A Conversation on the Role of Media in Popularising and unlocking the power of Reading, Reaching out to Children Through Films, IQ Starter and IQ Genius, The Citizens Archive of Pakistan ‘Exchange for Change’ exhibition, cross border correspondence between Indian and Pakistani Students.
