ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday chaired a meeting on electricity issues held in the PM’s House and directed the Water and Power Ministry to have zero tolerance towards power theft and to speed up the recovery process.
The PM was given a detailed briefing about electricity theft issues and performance of power distribution companies in recovery of dues. He was also briefed about the electricity load management plan.
Nawaz said that all efforts should be made so that consumers face minimum possible inconvenience during the current season. It was also decided that a comprehensive energy conservation plan would be developed and executed after consultation with all stakeholders, including traders, manufacturers and retailers to save electricity.
