The power shortfall in the country has also compelled the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to resort to six to eight hours scheduled power load-management across its region including twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The power shortfall in the country again surged to 2,600 MW as the total generation was recorded at 10,100 MW against the demand of 12,700 MW at 0900 hours forcing the power distribution companies to load-management programme.

It is pertinent to mention here that the IESCO carried out minimum load-shedding in its region during the last few weeks owing to better load- management.

Meanwhile, the IESCO spokesman also requested the consumers to use minimum electricity during peak hours (1900-2300).
