The electricity supply to several offices of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been disconnected by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) due to non-payment of dues of over Rs 2 billion.
According to details, the electricity supply to the CDA Headquarters, Melody Office and several Secretariat blocks has been disconnected. Sources told that CDA owes IESCO Rs 2 billion dues and despite repeated notices the civic authority has failed to pay up.
The authority has adopted the stance that IESCO has made over billing in street lights billing and it is willing to pay current dues in the form of instalments and that their power be restored.
Sources said that CDA chairman has constituted a special committee to iron out the row with IESCO however so far IESCO officials are unwilling to compromise.
