The present government does not believe in confrontation rather it is promoting an atmosphere of peace, harmony and reconciliation, said Federal Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid while addressing the Rawalpindi/Islamabad Photo Journalist Association (RIPJA) Friday in Islamabad.
“Politics and journalism have entered into a new age where rule of law prevails. Gone are the days when independence of media used to be challenged. Now the State, political parties and the society have learnt from the past and have rectified their mistakes,” the minister emphasised.
Rashid said that it was a good omen as those affected by the development of recent events are following the path of law and Constitution – they have approached PEMRA and have filed a complaint which is commendable.
Due to all these positive trends, Pakistan is being acknowledged as democratic and civilized state in the world, he added.
The senator urged the photo journalist to portray softer image of Pakistan in this changing scenario. He also asked them to highlight the brighter side of the picture to help Pakistan to march on the road of peace, prosperity and harmony.
Rashid said that the present government has created a unique culture of political tolerance by respecting a mandate of every political force in the country. He emphasized on the need of unity to solve the problems confronted by the State.
