Punjab Education Department has decided to restart implementation of “rationalisation policy” on schools. The number of teachers required in a school will be decided on the number of students in each school till May 31.

According to an estimate, around 550 male and female teachers in Rawalpindi district are expected to be declared surplus.

On the other hand, the teacher organizations have expressed concern over the decision of the Education Department. Rawalpindi SES Teachers Association President Shafiq Bhalwalia said that the educationists reject the decision of the provincial government and hold strong protest demonstrations against the rationalisation policy.
