QUETTA
The Balochistan Assembly on Saturday adopted three resolutions about continuity of financial assistance to students of Balochistan under the Prime Minister Scholarship Programme, setting up of small dams in the province and extension of motorway to Quetta.
The first resolution was tabled by the Pakistan Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) lawmakers. The House adopted the resolution demanding the federal government to continue financial support for students of Balochistan who are studying across the country.
The second resolution, tabled by two female lawmakers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), was about establishing small water reservoirs or dams in various areas of the province to fulfil agricultural requirements and resolve the problem of water shortage.
The third resolution was also tabled by the JUI-F lawmakers about extension of motorway to Quetta via Dera Ghazi Khan and Loralai.
The House, however, rejected a resolution with majority about allotting the status of tehsils to Kachla, Aghberg, Saryab and Sira Ghargai.
