Alleged LeJ key member killed, five suspects held in Karachi

KARACHI-

An alleged key member of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi was killed on Saturday in a joint operation by police and Rangers in Karachi, a private news channel reported.

According to the report, Qari Naushad was killed during a crossfire between the suspect and security forces.

He was wanted for murder.

two light machine guns (LMG)s, five short machinegun (SMG), two repeaters, six rocket launchers and 186 bullets were also recovered from the killed suspect, added the report.

Also on Saturday, three suspects were held from Lyari town while two others were held from Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of the city.

On Friday night, at least 40 suspects were held in a search operation in Delhi colony following a deadly explosion in the area that killed six people earlier that day.
