700 cops deputed for security of Tablighi Ijtima

Islamabad Police have made foolproof security arrangements by deputing over 700 personnel for the security of participants of Tablighi Ijtima, which started at Sector I-11/1 on Saturday.

Four teams of Pakistan Rangers were performing patrolling duty on mobile vehicles. Joint patrolling was also being conducted at the IJ Principal Road as a strategy to maintain high vigilance.

The checking of the participants was being made through metal detectors, while walk-through gates were installed at the entry points of the congregation. A separate place was allocated for parking of vehicles.

The police were continuously patrolling the area around the Ijtima while a combing as well as search operation would also be conducted in the localities near Sabzi Mandi area.

The senior police officials supervised the security arrangements.  Special branch and model traffic police were also performing their duties at the Ijtema.

AIG (Operation) Sultan Azam Temuri has directed all the sub-divisional police officials and station house officers to make the checking process effective. A control room has been also established under supervision of DSP (Tele) for coordination among deployed staff through wireless system.

Zonal SP, SDPO Industrial Area and SHO Sabzi Mandi Police will supervise all security measures. They will coordinate all security arrangements and to be responsible for making necessary security steps under at the Ijtimah premises.

Special deployment of traffic policemen has been made to avoid traffic jam from Pirwadhai Mor to Railway Gate on IJ Principal Road, Sir Syed Road and Police Lines Road.

At the culmination of this congregation, further deployment of traffic cops will be made to avoid traffic mess so that people may travel towards their destination without any problem.
