On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Rawalpindi Education Department has set a target of enrolling 120,000 children in government schools of the district during one year.
The executive district officers (EDOs) of all seven tehsils of the district have been notified about the target. According to the target, 33,000 kids will be enrolled in Rawalpindi, 7,000 in Kotli Sattian, 27,000 in Gujar Khan, 20,000 in Taxila, 8,000 in Murree, 12,500 in Kahuta and 12,500 new enrolments will be accomplished in Kalar Syedan.
Under the Universal Education Program, 19,148 children have been enrolled in schools of the district during last two months, while the campaign is still in progress.
