Pakistan Railways (PR) Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq on Friday said that, when PR was handed over to him, it was like a patient in ICU (intensive care unit), now in normalcy.
Talking to journalists in Hyderabad, he deliberated about many internal changes in PR.
To a question, he said that privatisation was always carried out of institutions, which are incorrigible, while PML-N has hardly ever interfered in PR affairs. “This is a very important institution of the Federation, for which the government should take all necessary measures,” he said.
The PR minister also said that the Pakistan Army was currently coping with the mega threat of terrorism and extremism, over which the government and Armed Forces were on same page.
To another question he denied any threats to PML-N from PPP and MQM coalition, while referring to Musharraf’s issue, he said that the case rested before an independent judiciary, who would be the best judge of the case.
