The Investigation Officer (IO) has been changed in Judges Detention Case against former president Pervez Musharraf and Inspector Ghulam Mustafa Kiani has once again been appointed as investigation officer.

As many as seven investigation officers have so far been changed in this case. Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Amir Nadim Tabish said Friday that such acts were affecting the investigation process.

Both the guarantors of Pervez Musharraf, including Rashid Mehmood and Mushtaq Ahmad, appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and submitted an application seeking exemption for the former president from attendance in the court on the plea that Musharraf was seeking treatment from PNS Al-Shifa and Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi.

The SPP, while raising objection to the plea for exemption, objected that medical report was not attached with the plea. Therefore, it should be rejected. The court granted Musharraf exemption for one day besides adjourning hearing of the case till May 9.
