LAHORE-

A shoe was hurled at Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday by a journalist during an international conference, a private news channel reported.

The shoe, however, could not hit the CM and landed near the stage where he was sitting.

Sharif was the chief guest at the three-day SAARC Labour conference in Lahore.

The journalist demanded that the government should arrest those involved in attack on Hamid Mir.

The journalist is reportedly from a private local channel. He was quickly escorted out of the conference by security guards after the incident.

Talking to media men outside, the journalist said that he was not ashamed of his attack.

Meanwhile, the CM remained composed during the event and did not show any reaction.

The journalists across the country have condemned the incident, adding that if the journalist had any complaint he should have met with the CM.

According to latest reports, PML-N MNA Waheed Gul has thrashed the journalist for his actions.

He has been arrested by the police, add the reports.
