Understanding Iqbal’s philosophy can revive Pak-Afghan ties: Mosazai

Understanding the essence of poetry and philosophy of Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal could revive the glorious warm relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, said Janan Mosazai, Ambassador of Afghanistan.
He said this while addressing the opening ceremony of International Commemoration Conference on Allama Iqbal-2014 organized by National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Wednesday.
Janan Mosa Zai said that Dr Allama Iqbal’s poetry was the true reflection of love and affection he had towards Afghan soil and people and this should be guiding star for the people of this region and countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey and Muslims of the world to bind into one nation and revive the glorious past of fondness, fraternity and integrity.
Janan said that the conference would not only help the students and academia to refresh the message of Allama Iqbal but also provide an opportunity to people of different countries to sit together and develop cultural and social relations.
HEC Chairman Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, while addressing the closing ceremony said NUML had stood out by arranging an International Conference on Allama Iqbal and it was an initiative which would go a long way in helping students, scholars and academia to build on their knowledge about the universal and ever effective message of Iqbal’s poetry. Dr Mukhtar said that with the deep knowledge of the Quran and power of farsightedness Dr Iqbal tried to revive the lost honour of soulless Muslims, where, at one juncture he was reminding splendid past of the Muslims, giving hope to strive and on the other he was building the confidence by forestalling promising future.
NUML Rector Maj Gen Masood Hasan addressing the conference said that ICCA-2014 would help to develop and reconnect ones’ relation with the knowledge of Persian and Urdu literature and promote interfaith harmony.
Earlier, scholars, including Dr Durmus Bulgur, Istanbul University, Dr Syed Muhammad Akram Ikram, Punjab University, Dr Allah Bakhsh, NUML, Dr Raiuddin, Punjab University, Hakeema Dastranji, Tehran, Iqbal Feroze, Rabat-e-Iqbal, Faisalabad, Dr Ghahrman Solemani, Deputy Chairman Sa’adi Foundation, Iran, and many others presented their papers on Allama Dr Iqbal’s philosophy and poetry and held that poetry and philosophy of Iqbal linked the entire Ummah and humanity linguistically, politically, ideologically and spiritually.
A painting exhibition was also held at ICCA-2014 in which the students had exhibited their painting talent on the topics highlighted in Allama Iqbal’s poetry. The event was attended by Rawish, Counselor Islamic Republic of Iran, Demet Sekercioglu, Deputy head Mission of Republic of Turkey, Director General NUML Brig Azam Jamal, Dr Mahr Noor Muhammad Khan, Head of Persian Department, Registrar, heads, directors, faculty and great number of students.
At the end, HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed and NUML Maj Gen (r) Masood Hasan distributed the shields and certificates among the scholars and organizers of the events.
