Five lives lost until midday Wednesday in Karachi

KARACHI-

At least five people were killed on Wednesday in separate events in Karachi, a private news channel reported.

One person were shot dead in Mianwali Colony of Manghopir.

A body of a woman was discovered from Rashidabad area of the city.

The body, in a gunnysack, bore torture marks.

Two bodies were discovered from Mewashah Graveyard while another was found near Lasbella Bridge.

According to the police, all the three victims were kidnapped and tortured.

They have not been identified yet, added the police.

Target killings, gang wars, extortion and kidnappings have become a daily routine in Karachi, the industrial hub of Pakistan.

Rangers’ and police have been conducting targeting operations against criminals in the city on the behest of the federal government.
