Bomb kills three cops in Charsadda

At least three cops were killed and around 30 people were injured as a result of a high intensity explosion on Nowshehra Road in Charsadda on Tuesday morning.

According to the officials concerned, the militants targeted a police van with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted in a motor bike parked on roadside.

According to an official, three policemen boarding a van were killed on the spot whereas the vehicle was reduced to pieces. The official said that 31 injured were admitted in Charsadda District Headquarters and Peshawar’s Lady Reading hospitals where several injured people were stated to be in danger.

During the explosion, policemen present on site started firing shots, which caused panic in the locals.

The officials said that a constable of traffic police was shot dead by unidentified people on Ashraf Road, a busy commercial locality of the city. The assailants riding a bike succeeded in escaping.

MILITANT SHOT DEAD:

Furthermore, an alleged militant was shot dead by policemen on Kohat Road in Badhabher.

According to officials, an alleged militant, wearing military uniform was shot dead by policemen in Badhabher area. The dead body was shifted to police station and investigations are in progress.

Earlier, late on Monday night, militants attacked a police mobile vehicle in Badhabher. As a result of indiscriminate firing, five policemen including an inspector were killed on the spot and two others were injured. During the encounter between the policemen and militants, a driver of an ambulance was also killed.
