Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has made yet another tall claim that a 21,000 Mega Watt of electricity will be added to the national grid in next eight years.
Talking to media persons at the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) office on Tuesday, Abid Sher Ali said Sepco saved Rs 1 billion by clamping down on electricity thefts.
He clarified that it was a war against power thefts, not revenge against any political party, leader or any province. The minister appealed that all patriotic citizens should cooperate with the government to end the power theft, loadshedding and energy crisis. Abid Sher said the practice had been witnessed for the first time that the federal government and provinces were working in collaboration to steer the country out of prevailing crisis.
