Unlike others, PTI to hold LB polls in KPK

 Briefing newsmen in Islamabad on Tuesday, ECP Director General Sher Afghan said rules had been framed and delimitations completed in the KPK, adding that the ECP had also approved the use of biometric system for polling in tehsil Ghazi as a pilot project.

About LB elections in Punjab and Sindh, the DG informed the newsmen that the Supreme Court had already ordered the provinces to legislate within five months, empowering the commission to carry out delimitations.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that it was ready to hold local bodies’ (LB) elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) before June 30, however, without the use of biometric system.
