*Mehmoodur Rasheed says government struggling to secure its rule instead of serving masses
The sitting government is engaged in securing its political interests instead of resolving the problems faced by the masses, alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed while talking to journalists during his visit to the Ishaq Haroon Hospital, being run through charity of the affluent people, located in Sham Nagar on Sunday.
Mehmoodur Rasheed said that the Punjab government make tall claims of good governance in the province but on ground reality is that common man is deprived of basic facilities including health, education and other life amenities.
He said that political parties vow to resolve all crises faced by country and ending the grievances of poor masses but when they come into power they forget all pledges and focus their attention on privileges and enjoying luxurious life.
The PTI leader said that the government run hospitals of Punjab are overburdened, lack proper treatment facilities and poor people who can’t afford visiting private hospitals had to suffer and it often results in loss of precious lives.
He stressed the affluent of the society for extending cooperation in public welfare projects so that needy people could also be provided basic facilities.
The opposition leader expressed concerns over the power supply situation in Punjab and said that loadshedding has gone out of control before the on set of summer.
Mehmoodur Rasheed condemned the attempt on life of senior TV anchor Hamid Mir and demanded bringing the culprits to book besides awarding exemplary punishment to them.
